These are one of my personal favorites - the mesmerizing color changes in these stones never fails to get noticed. Depending on the lighting, these change from a dark bluish purple, to reddish purple, to a blue/green purple. The stone measures 9x7mm oval, and includes a "sew on" style setting in your choice of metals - either jewelry quality silver or gold plated prong settings. The settings have 2 holes on 2 sides of the setting. The settings are technically an octagon setting, but the stones fit fabulously, and you wouldn't know that unless someone told you that - which I did :)) Oddly enough, these would NOT fit in any oval setting I have, O.o
