Clear Vintage Crystal & Vitrail Dark Swarovski, 41ss/9mm, SP or GP Setting, Rare Crystals

Vintage clear Crystal and Vitrail Dark. Technically, the crystals are 41ss (9mm), but they fit really well in a 39ss (8mm) setting, with just a very, very slight overhang.

Please note: I normally ship rhinestones within a day - please allow an extra day for gluing the vitrail dark in the crystals.

These crystals are just too much fun :) They are vintage (West German) clear crystal with a scalloped center recess. The clear crystal is stunning on its own, with faceting similar to Dentelles and a pointed gold foil back. I decided that recess was 'screaming' for a crystal to be added - so I did. The center crystal is a fabulous 4mm vintage Swarovski in Vitrail Dark that I set myself with jewelers' glue (the same glue used by professionals that repair vintage rhinestone jewelry).

I made one into a ring for myself to see just how much punishment the center crystal could take, and it turns out it can take quite a bit! Unless you take a pick and deliberately try to gouge the center crystal out, it won't come out on its own.

A small note about foil-backed stones: Swarovski’s sew-ons are excellent quality; I have at least 3 I rarely take off. However, there are chemicals and some oils and lotions that can eat at the foil on the back of the crystal. If in doubt, whether something will hurt the foil, take the ring (or other piece of jewelry off).
