Sensational Sew-Ons, New Jewelry Tutorial - Design/Tutorial by Bobbi J Maw - MyWiredImagination
This listing is for the instructions to make these jewelry pieces, not the jewelry itself. It does not include any materials or tools. Finished jewelry from the tutorial is also NOT included.
This is an intermediate-level wire wrapping tutorial; though with a basic understanding of wire wrapping techniques, skills, and terminology, beginners can complete these projects. Projects include pendants, earrings, bracelet and necklace focals.
For those of you who have followed my past tutorials or explored my previous designs, you know I already offer a wide variety of jewelry patterns featuring “sew-ons.” This tutorial will take a different direction, focusing on a more free-form, freestyle approach that encourages creativity and personal expression.
Sew-on settings offer a simple and versatile way to create custom jewelry without soldering. With just a few basic materials—settings, crystals or gemstones, jewelry wire, and some creative planning—you can build a wide range of unique designs.
While cup chain and pre-made empty settings are readily available, they aren't always offered in the exact shapes, sizes, or arrangements a design calls for. This tutorial demonstrates how to adapt and combine these components to create custom jewelry designs with virtually unlimited possibilities, all without soldering.
At the back of the tutorial, you will find information on tools, wire, suppliers, and some basic information for a refresher, if needed; plus a link to a free collection of detailed techniques. Feel free to flip back and forth as necessary.
